History of railways in Indonesia has been started since the 19th century in 1864 precisely on the island of Java. C1218-fueled locomotives reject this teak SS numbered 457 when used by the SS. This locomotive is one of 43 SS's C12 series locomotives that are not submitted to perintahan Japan, while the other 40 locomotives taken by the Japanese.
1927 C1218-made boiler Hartmann Chemnitz steam boiler was replaced by artificial Hohenzollern AG Dusseldorf, Germany. After the end of his service, C1218 placed on Depo Cepu, Blora regency, Central Java and used as the locomotive of the train yard as well as to attract the train passengers or goods on the trajectory of the branch-Blora Cepu-purwodadi.
This locomotive thereafter placed in Ambarawa Railway Museum. And starting 10 September 2009 This locomotive arrives in Solo for activated to serve the tourist route from station to station Sangkrah Purwosari.
